A place like you is a frugal architecture agency that renovates, fits out and optimises your offices, shops and restaurants using eco-responsible, local and reused materials. Sylvie Thomas and her team take a responsible and committed approach to preserving our environmental resources.

Why use recycled materials?

Because 1.3 million tonnes of used furniture are thrown away every year! It's time to take action, by using reused materials. These used materials are solid and have already proved their worth. By reworking them, we can mobilise local craftsmen and create skilled jobs.

The collective's commitments are based on 5 pillars:

Freedom: The collective will not follow the dictates of Instagram. It will work on singular creations and respond to the study of singular projects. It will work in close collaboration with its clients, partners and suppliers.

Fairness: The collective came together because of its ethical and social values. It will work for accessible interior design and will be attentive to the opinions, desires and questions of its customers.

Positive rebellion: Before each action, the collective will question its legitimacy, to obey its values, preserve the environment, reduce over-consumption and be virtuous with its craftsmen.

Collaboration: The team will communicate with its craftsmen and always choose qualified experts for each project. It will have full confidence in its craftsmen, because it is prepared to surround itself with expert professionals. The team will pass on its knowledge to its trainees, whom it will welcome with open arms.

The offer: The collective appreciates the most modest projects, the most extravagant, all of them exciting. By bringing together a team of experts in each skill, it learns to become better.

Project stages according to A place like you :

The first visit is free and without obligation. During this first meeting, the team gets to know each other, visits the site, and understands the needs, wishes and constraints. This is followed by the APS phase, during which sketches and a budget estimate are produced.

DEFINITIVE DRAFT: This is when the final project is validated.

REUSE: After visiting the site, the team produces a diagnosis of the materials that can be reused in situ. They then set out to find all the materials needed for the final project, whether reused or second-hand products, or mistakes in orders. Then he has to adapt the project slightly, depending on what he finds.

GRAPHIC DESIGN: The graphic designer offers the best visibility: he adapts the graphic charter for the design of all the signage.

• REUSE AWARENESS: Using recycled materials is great, but getting the word out is even better.
• CONFERENCES: Workshops and conferences on the subjects of re-use, eco-responsibility and CSR are organised. These workshops are open to the public, customers and staff. The collective also organises exhibitions of reused furniture, eco-responsible artists and players in the reuse sector.
• AWARENESS KITS: Each piece of re-used or eco-responsible furniture is labelled, explaining the choice made to save CO2. In this way, users of the premises will be made aware of the eco-responsible approach. The collective also provides a communication kit including, after the work has been completed, the CO2 savings to help protect our planet.
