With more than twenty years of experience as an interior architect, Guillaume Neuburger has developed an approach in which aesthetics, functionality and well-being are inseparable. His work is not simply about designing harmonious spaces, but about creating places where people can feel genuinely and sustainably at ease.
Inspired by minimalist Japanese architecture, raw materials and natural light, he favours a restrained design language in which every element has its rightful place. Concrete, wood and light interact to create calm, timeless spaces deeply rooted in the everyday lives of those who inhabit them.
The name of his studio, Komorebi, refers to the Japanese word for sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees. It perfectly captures his approach: revealing emotion through light, materials and space rather than through accumulation or ornamentation. This Japanese influence informs his thinking without confining his work to a single style. Each project is designed as a bespoke response to its context, architecture and the personality of its occupants.
His approach is based on a simple belief: our environment influences the way we live. An interior can encourage concentration, interaction and contemplation, or provide a genuine refuge from a daily life often saturated with stimulation. Each project is therefore conceived as a sensitive response to his clients' habits, needs and personalities.
Throughout his career, he has completed numerous residential projects for discerning clients, as well as professional spaces, always seeking a balance between emotion, functionality and longevity. His experience as an interior architecture lecturer also allows him to enrich his practice through ongoing reflection on the evolution of the discipline and new ways of living and inhabiting spaces.
Whether it is a complete renovation, the transformation of an apartment, house, shop, restaurant or workplace, Guillaume Neuburger supports his clients with the same high standards, from the initial sketches through to project completion and site supervision.
