Floriane Bande is a Belgian interior architect and furniture designer who graduated from École Camondo in Paris with honours from the jury. She was also a finalist in Design Parade Toulon 2021 at Villa Noailles. Her work has been featured in publications including AD France, AD US and Harper’s Bazaar, among others. Based between Paris and Belgium, she has developed a distinctive approach to interior architecture, drawing inspiration from Belgian minimalism and French elegance.
Her work is defined by a pursuit of warm timelessness, tranquillity and balance. Each project is conceived as a cohesive whole, in which volumes, perspectives, lines, materials, light and furniture interact harmoniously. Rather than following trends, her aim is to create distinctive, enduring and functional spaces that are genuinely enjoyable to live in.
Proportion plays a central role in her design philosophy. Floriane Bande carefully considers lines, volumes and proportions to achieve a sense of balance. This approach can also enhance the perceived spaciousness of a room: even a small space can feel larger when every element is thoughtfully and precisely designed. This balance also fosters a sense of calm and serenity. When each element finds its natural place, the space becomes more fluid and peaceful, creating a genuine feeling of home.
She favours natural, high-quality and durable materials, selected for their beauty, authenticity and ability to stand the test of time. Wood, stone, metal, wall finishes, textiles and bespoke finishes are combined with subtlety to create tactile, warm and balanced interiors.
Floriane Bande also places great importance on the identity of each space. When a building already has a distinctive character or history, she seeks to understand its qualities and bring them to the fore. In an apartment or a more recent, neutral architectural setting, she enjoys creating that sense of history through a strong design concept, carefully considered interior architecture and distinctive details.
Bespoke design and collaboration with skilled craftspeople also play an important role in her projects. Together, they develop custom joinery, furniture, architectural features and specialised finishes, with particular attention to craftsmanship and seamless communication. This collaborative approach allows the original design concept to extend right down to the smallest details.
Whether renovating a Parisian apartment, a house or a property with distinctive character, each project is conceived as a unique response to the building, its proportions and, above all, the people who will inhabit it.
