HATRIAE is available for new projects

HATRIÆ is an interior renovation and spatial design company based in the Gard, founded by Hugo DEMICHEL. Its approach is built around a simple idea: reveal rather than replace. Every project starts with what already exists — its volumes, natural light, materials and history — to create an interior that is coherent, enduring and deeply personal.

The name HATRIÆ is inspired by the Roman atrium, the central space of the home around which circulation and living areas were organised. Open to the sky, it brought natural light and fresh air into the heart of the house. This idea captures the philosophy of HATRIÆ: to think of an interior as a whole, where light, volumes, materials and uses interact rather than simply coexist.

HATRIÆ supports its clients from initial advice through to the complete delivery of renovation works. Services can include consultation visits, layout plans, 3D mood visualisations, material and furniture selection, bespoke elements and the complete transformation of an interior. This continuity between design and execution helps maintain a consistent aesthetic and technical vision throughout the project.

Renovation is at the heart of the practice, including space reconfiguration, kitchens, bathrooms, plumbing, partitions, painting, decorative finishes, tiling, traditional flooring and finishing work. HATRIÆ pays particular attention to natural materials and surfaces that develop character over time: lime, terracotta, stone, wood, mineral finishes, muted tones and handcrafted textures.

Its aesthetic sits at the intersection of contemporary design, rustic influences, minimalism and wabi-sabi, with a sensitivity to Mediterranean, Scandinavian and Japanese-inspired influences. This identity always remains at the service of the space and the people who inhabit it.

Whether rethinking a single room or completely transforming a house, HATRIÆ seeks the same balance: well-considered proportions, quality materials, functionality and character. The aim is not to follow trends, but to create warm, living spaces designed to stand the test of time.
