CB Métamorphoses is available for new projects

Carole Bertrand is an interior designer who believes a home should not be judged by its photographs, but by how well it supports the people living in it. Based in the Cœur d’Hérault area of southern France, she specialises in residential interiors, renovating, reorganising and optimising homes so they adapt to their occupants, rather than the other way around.

She has a particular fondness for old houses, with their unexpected layouts, constraints and character, as well as for the families who call them home. She works primarily with blended and non-traditional families, as well as families whose neurodivergent members may face additional challenges in everyday life. In these households, a poorly designed space can quickly become a source of fatigue, tension and sensory or mental overload. Her goal is to eliminate these everyday frustrations, one room at a time.

Her approach always starts with people, never with trends. Before discussing materials or colours, she looks at how family members move around, spend time together, find privacy and navigate the points of friction in their daily routines. Ergonomics and functionality come first. Aesthetics follow, serving the way each space is used.

Her background helps explain her unique perspective on interiors. With training in psychology and dance, she pays particular attention to the connections between the body, behaviour and the spaces we inhabit. Having moved house around twenty times herself, she also understands first-hand how much a living environment can improve or complicate everyday life.

A natural communicator, Carole explains her choices and reasoning so that her clients can understand their project, make it their own and make informed decisions throughout the process.

Depending on their needs, she offers several service options:

Half-day consultation: a short, focused session to address a specific issue.

Space potential study: for clients who need help identifying the right layout and feel confident managing the rest of the project themselves.

Full-service project: comprehensive support, including construction supervision, for larger renovation projects.

An old house, a growing family or a home that no longer works for everyday life? Carole Bertrand works throughout the Cœur d’Hérault area and its surroundings.
